L'Wren Scott

Inspired by a windstorm when designing, L'Wren Scott created the Spring 09 RTW line using bold black and white, curve inducing skirts, and Victorian era elements. Classy and drop dead sexy.

Anna Beck Designs

Designer Becky Hosmer started traveling the world through college and was inspired by everything she saw. She learned intricate techniques while traveling in Bali and fell in love with the people and the culture. She has recently moved to Bali from LA to oversee production of Anna Beck Designs, which is made entirely in Bali. I especially love the pattern details.

Saipua

Saipua is a small family owned business out of Hudson Valley, NY. They started out making olive oil soaps which are now sold throughout the country. In their own store, they also create beautiful floral arrangements...

So so pretty.

...constricting beauty...

I love corsets. Not as constricting as what was worn during the 18th century, they are meant to be worn for everyone to see! Incorporated in dresses, they are form fitting, worn as a top, they are sexy with jeans.

Warsaw

Warsaw Made makes great bags. Simple as that. They are simple, utilitarian, and strong. Warsaw Made is a one person operative who strives to make durable and classic bags that will last. There is an apparent inspiration from canvas army inspired bags from the past.

Erica Weiner

Erica Weiner started designing jewelry out of her apartment in 2005. Before this she was a costume designer in the fashion industry. About half of Erica Weiner jewelry is made of vintage, dead stock, and re-purposed materials. All of the jewelry is handmade in NYC. So you know each piece has a personal touch and character. I love it all. Beautiful.

...pretty and unique this spring...

Assymetrical dresses are everywhere for spring this year. A little shoulder goes a long way... you can go neutral for a nice spring wedding, or you can go bright for a hot date in the city.

Alec Soth

Alec Soth's photography has been a favorite of mine for years. It is powerful, moving, and suggestive. His most recent work is titled "The Last Days of W".  Photos taken over the course of eight years that tell a story we are all too familiar with... a weary America resulting from the Bush administration.

My dear friend recommended I blog about this great boutique in Sacramento. It's called Velvet Leaf. They design and create beautiful clothing out of 100% certified organic cotton. This boutique is proof that it is in fact easy to be "green".

Take a look at their beautiful complete cut and sewn line.

Feeling kind of Blue-sy and Yellow-sy

I am really loving these colors together. They compliment each other and illuminate... and who doesn't want to radiate when they step out the door?

stow me, store me, but don't throw me away

It's so hard for me to ever throw anything away... who knows when you may need it again. ThreePotatoFour has some great vintage storage pieces that hide all the wonderful treasures you have collected over the years.

Bright blue, stainless steel, worn solid wood...

Sass and Bide

I remember when Sass and Bide skinny jeans were all the rage. Now their collection has expanded to a full ready to wear line which reflects their underground Australian roots.

Their new collection features some uber-sexy looks. Great mixes of materials - cotton tees with great graphics, corseted feminine dresses that don't lose their edge, and tailored contrasting details.
